The Syntactic Structure of Mezquital Otomí
H. Harwood Hess
The difficulties encountered in working with and translating into non-Indo-European
languages have given linguists new perspective on the nature of language, and have
provided great stimulus for the study of descriptive linguistics. It is hoped that this
brief presentation of the syntax of Mezquital Otomi will further contribute in some
such way to the study of linguistics, and will also give some insights into the com-
parative study of the Otomi dialects.
